Skin-Deep "More than Skin-Deep"

Skin-Deep fue una banda nacida en Doncaster (UK) activa entre 1985 y 1988. Algunos de sus miembros tocaron en otra banda Punk local llamada Chykie Egg & The Soldiers, aunque sólo dieron un concierto. Skin-Deep se forma en 1985 pero no dan su primer concierto hasta un año después, el 20 de Febrero de 1986. Su debut en directo fue en la ciudad de Rotherham (UK) junto a The Dropouts e Internal Sabotage. Su segundo concierto fue un mes después tocando junto a Condemned 84 y Section 5 en el Limit Club de Sheffield (UK). Después de su concierto junto a The Business en Londres, el sello Link Records les echó el ojo. La relación entre la banda y Link records resultó bastante fructífera y sus primeras grabaciones aparecen en los recopilatorios "Oi! the resurrection" (Link Records, 1986) y "The Sound of Oi!" (Link Records, 1987). A principios de 1988 entran a grabar en los estudios The Billiard Room de Leeds (UK) su primer y único LP "More than Skin-Deep". Finalmente el álbum se publica en Julio de 1988 y se edita a través de Skank Records (sello subsidiario de Link Records dedicado al Ska). Algunos temas del LP contaron con sección de vientos: la trompeta de Gav Miller y el saxo de Carol 'Cal' Jenkinson.
