The most recent album (their fifth!) by these London-based purveyors of Post-Punk influenced synth Pop. Recorded between 2018 and 2019 in both London and LA. As well as conjuring-up memories of Screamers, Wire and Killing Joke, this puts me in mind of Iron Lung Records: with the 80’s synth of Total Control, and the propullsion of Diat’s 80’s indie-punk – but minus the gloomy vibe of both bands. Miscalculations are brighter and bouncier by comparison (I also find myself thinking of Tenement, too). Not enough bands utilise backing vocals. These guys do, excesssively so, and it adds heaps of catchyness and nutritious pop pleasure. I’m slightly suspicious… why are’nt these guys huge? what’s going on…? 12 tracks!
